Youth Sickling Through Life
The Youth Sickling Through Life program is designed to support young individuals living with sickle cell disease by providing education, mentorship, and comprehensive resources to help them navigate the unique challenges they face. Through a combination of group sessions, peer engagement, and one-on-one support, the program empowers youth to better understand their condition, manage their health proactively, and build self-confidence.
We focus on bridging the gap between clinical care and community support by offering workshops on topics such as disease management, mental health, nutrition, and transitioning to adult care. Additionally, the program fosters a sense of belonging by creating a safe space for participants to share experiences and learn from one another.
Program Goals:
• Educate youth about sickle cell disease and self-advocacy
• Enhance quality of life through holistic wellness education
• Foster peer support and community connections
• Equip participants with tools for a successful transition into adulthood
